The residents have now taken control of the bus and are not allowing it to be taken away till they are compensated for the damage. A police team along with officials of the administration remained on the spot on Thursday as angry residents threatened to set the bus ablaze if they are not provided compensation for the damage to their vehicles.

Station house officer (SHO), Canal Colony, Angrej Singh, said that the police were trying to bring the vehicle out of the colony but people are objecting to it without any legal standing. "A case has been registered against the unidentified driver of the bus under sections 279, 427 of IPC for rash driving and causing damage to vehicles."

He said compensation to the people will also be provided but through court, he said. The driver of the bus, allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, had taken the bus to the narrow street in Paras Ram Nagar on Tuesday morning.
