'Polluted groundwater great danger for future generation'

Mohammad Isrial from department of earth sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, on Tuesday said pollution of groundwater was a great danger for future generations.

Mohammad Isrial from department of earth sciences, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, on Tuesday said pollution of groundwater was a great danger for future generations.

Isrial discussed various aspects of groundwater system in a multidisciplinary refresher course organised by Institute of Environmental Studies, Kurukshetra University, where he was chief guest.

Surinder Aggarwal, national fellow, Institute of Economic Growth, Delhi, said 50% of the world population lives in urban areas and generates 90% of global economy.

Rajvir Singh Yadav, dean, social science faculty, KU, spoke on politics of environment, while Pawan Kumar Joshi from TERI University, New Delhi, delivered a talk on wildlife management and on geo-informatics.

In the practical session, NN Dorga showed the different minerals formed during different stages of earth formation.
