Post-matric scholarship: Punjab unaided colleges to remain shut on Oct 7

All unaided colleges in Punjab will remain shut on October 7 to protest against the non-release of funds for post-matric scholarship meant for students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Officially Backward Class (OBC) students by the government.

All unaided colleges in Punjab will remain shut on October 7 to protest against the non-release of funds for post-matric scholarship meant for students belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Officially Backward Class (OBC) students by the government.

The bandh call has been given by 13 associations of Punjab at a meeting held on Monday. It was also decided that colleges would hoist black flags in front of colleges.

The associations have also decided to submit a memorandum to deputy commissioner’s in each district.
