Students of Government Primary School, Vishkarma Town, appearing for exams are literally feeling the heat, not because of the exam pressure but due to massive power cuts.
Due to frequent power cuts, students here are finding it tough to take exams in the dark.
Besides, the school has no playground for students and even sports equipments are gathering dust.
One of the teachers at the school said: "Due to constant power cuts and dark classrooms students' eyesight is getting affected. They are finding it tough to read, write and learn. Moreover, teachers are also finding it tough to teach in the class."
Sarabjit Singh, head in-charge of the school, said: "Sometimes we are unable to send e-mails to the district education office (DEO) due to which work gets delayed. Due to lack of funds, the school is not purchasing generator so we are helpless."
Bimla Kumari, mother of a school student, said: "My son has been complaining that he is finding it difficult to read from the blackboard. The education department should provide some solution to this problem."
