In Rohtak, Haryana minister and local MLA Manish Grover unveiled the foundation stone of the project near Bajrang Bhawan here.

The move came as surprise for city residents as Grover had earlier announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would inaugurate the project during the golden jubilee event in Gurgaon on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the opposition Congress claimed that they had already laid the foundation stone of the project during its rule in the state.

“The Rs 181 crore project had been approved as railway by-pass. But the BJP wasted two years to lay the foundation stone of the project again. They don’t have any vision for the project,” former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said.

Grover, however, said the previous Congress government’s project required acquisition of farmers’ land. “Ours is an elevated railway track project. It has made farmers happy since we have cancelled the proposal of acquisition of their land,” he said.
