In the clash between members of the Ravidasiya community and Shorger community late on Wednesday, at least 10 people were injured, police said. The clash took place around 9 pm on Wednesday after a poster of Guru Ravidas was found torn near Gurudwara Chilla Sahib.

Soon, members of the said communities were seen pelting each other with bricks and exchanging blows of batons. After getting the information, police teams reached the spot and controlled the situation from getting out of hands.

On Thursday morning, police officials called the representatives of both the communities for talks. However, members of both the communities clashed again. Taking note of the seriousness of the situation, deputy commissioner J Ganesan and superintendent of police Saurabh Singh also visited the spot. Police also used mild force to disperse the troublemakers. Markets remained closed.
