Continuing their protest, the Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC) pensioners on Wednesday blocked the gates of local bus stand for two hours on Wednesday.
The pensioners have been protesting for over a month against the non-payment of their monthly pension for the past three months.
The protest led to chaos resulting in traffic jams near the Bus Stand Chowk.
Hundreds of pensioners, under the aegis of the PRTC Pensioners Association, gathered outside the bus stand, raised slogans and burnt effigies of the PRTC management and the state government for allegedly ignoring their demands.
Association chairman Gurnam Singh said, "It is a sorry state of affairs that both the PRTC management and state government have turned a blind eye towards their demand for payment of their pending monthly pension.
"Where shall we go? We are protesting for the past several days, but no avail. Our slogans and demands have fallen on deaf ears", he said.
Gurnam Singh said that apart from monthly pensions, the PRTC has failed to clear their other dues, including medical bills, arrears of pay commission, pension commutation and balance of GPF for the past several years.
"Even employees who retired three years ago are still waiting for their retiree benefits to get cleared", he said.

{{/usCountry}}Bhagwant Singh, state president of the association, said that the PRTC management has failed to keep the promises made to them for clearing their monthly pension.
"Senior citizens are compelled to protest and sit in this searing heat and authorities are acting as mute spectators. We will intensify our protest if we are not paid pensions within this week", he said.
