Addressing the meeting, engineer Baldev Singh Sran apprised engineers of the region about various issues for the improvement of power sector.

The issues, including setting up of thermal power station at Mukerian, honouring of tripartite agreement, common cadre for PSPCL and PSTCL officers, equal start of pay to newly recruited engineers, cadre review for efficient and better working conditions and execution of RAPDRP schemes among others were presented before the government as well as the management.

He said these issues were also discussed with deputy chief minister in a meeting held in August. While agreeing to resolve the issues, he had instructed the PSPCL management for speedy resolution of issues, but nothing concrete had been done so far.

PSEBEA senior vice-president Bhupinder Singh said, "The unfair treatment by the government with engineers in the latest pay scale revision scheme is a fresh example."

Zonal secretary Bhupinder Khosla ensured the central executive on behalf of engineers of central zone that they would continue to implement the programmes given by the central executive despite all odds and pressures from the management.
