Disclosing this, association general secretary Sanjeev Sood said that engineers were left with no choice but to agitate in their resolve to turn around PSPCL into a profit making and vibrant company.

The association has given a call for wearing black badges for four days starting March 19.
As another way to protest, the official mobile phones of the engineers would remain switched off for two and half hours on the coming Friday. This would be followed by zonal dharnas in April.

The association had discussed various issues related to the efficiency of PSPCL, consumer services and service conditions of engineers with the PSPCL management last July.

It has been assured that all the issues would be decided in a time-bound manner. Nine months since, most of the issues have not been settled which has sparked severe resentment among the engineers.

The central demands of the engineers are an early execution of the Mukerian thermal plant, implementation of the cadre review committee report and functional reorganisation.
