A local court has dismissed an application seeking anticipatory bail for Rama Gugnani, the proprietor of Vistar Add. Com, the co-accused named by the police in the PTU scam on a complaint from the PTU registrar.
On another plea, the court granted bail to bail to Saibal Kanta, an employee of Matrix Infosys. Matrix is a company owned by Ajesh Gugnani and Sanjeev Gugnani, the other accused. The court dismissed the bail request of Gautam Banerjee, another employee. Additional district and sessions judge, Gurmit Kaur passed these orders.
Rama Gugnani was denied bail due to huge financial swindling involved in the case.
"The court asserted that the case involved huge financial irregularities. Therefore, the custodial interrogation of the proprietor Rama Gugnani was necessary. Though the company received cheques amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 2 lakh from the business centres vide letter dated 06-07-2012, but there was no transaction in the 'Vistar Add.Com' after April 3, 2012," said defence council Amandeep Singh Thind.
On the bail pleas of Gautam Banerjee and Saibal Kanta, the employees of Matrix Infosys, who were arrested by Police on October 25, the court granted bail to Saibal Kanta while denied the bail to Gautam Banerjee on the pretext that Banarjee was the manager of the company and he did all the transactions.

"Both have handed over all the records and submitted claims of our defence to the investigating official on December 1," said the lawyer. He added that their bail plea would come up for hearing before the high court on December 11.
