The proposed fee structure of LLB three-year course and the hike in hostel fee was approved by the PU senate on Sunday. Now, the three-year LLB course fee is Rs 3,175 from Rs 1,050.
The academic and administrative committees of the department had recommended revision of fee under department funds to be implemented from the 2016-17 academic session.
PROTEST, EFFIGY BURNT OF PU AUTHORITY
Students for society (SFS) on Sunday organised a protest demonstration and burnt the effigy of PU authority against fee hike and false cases. The SFS members claimed that the PU authority has been ignoring the dissent of students and also trying to pressurise the students by registering fake FIRs and complaints against the protesting students.
The leaders said that PU authority did not even bother to review students’ demands in the senate meeting. The V-C repeatedly argued that he is helpless as MHRD has not been releasing grants.
Although the financial deficit is too grave that it can’t be compensated with fee hike.
