The national round under the national Pulse Polio campaign is scheduled between January 17 and 19. The district task force held a meeting, presided over by assistant commissioner Dr Shikha Bhagat, at the deputy commissioner’s office in this regard on Wednesday.
Bhagat said all preparations for the campaign were done.
District health officer Dr Jasbir Singh issued directions to ensure not a single child between the age group of 0-5 be left from the vaccine drops. He said that administration has set up 1,125 booths to administer the vaccine drops to 2,54,337 children of the district.
He said 2,241 teams had been constituted to administer the drops in various areas of the district and would cover 5,22,311 households.
Assistant health officer (AHO) Dr Surinder Kumar said the administration would set up informatory boards, banners and posters in the city with the nod of the Jalandhar municipal corporation. He appealed to the education department officials to hold rallies, seminars and talks to ensure people knew about the disease and the campaign.
