Punjab cop dismissed for sexual assault

A police constable, arrested by the district police on Monday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor of the same village, has been dismissed from the service. IG Nirmal Singh Dhillon of Bathinda Zone who ordered the dismissal of Kulwinder Singh here on Wednesday said that such people should not be retained in the police service.

IG Nirmal Singh Dhillon of Bathinda Zone who ordered the dismissal of Kulwinder Singh here on Wednesday said that such people should not be retained in the police service.

Kulwinder Singh was newly recruited in the police service and was under training. He, along with his accomplice Kuldeep Singh, kidnapped the minor girl from her maternal grandfather's house in Sukhanwala village on Sunday evening.

After committing the crime, the accused left the victim near Hariewala village from where the police recovered her.
