Punjab government to disburse pension on village sarpanches

The Punjab government on Saturday said the onus of distributing old-age pension, enhanced to Rs 500 by the state cabinet recently, would be on sarpanches of villages.

The Punjab government on Saturday said the onus of distributing old-age pension, enhanced to Rs 500 by the state cabinet recently, would be on sarpanches of villages.

A government spokesperson said sarpanches would get the pension by 10th of every month and this must be disbursed among the beneficiaries by 15th.

The deputy commissioner concerned would coordinate with sarpanches.
