Dhillon said, “The people of the country are fed up from the policies of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and want a change in form of NDA that would write a saga of development for the country.”

Dhillon was speaking at a function at Seera village where nearly 300 Congress workers joined SAD on Wednesday.

“Veteran Congress workers have joined SAD because they are not treated as a part of the party. Congress has a tradition of not treating its workers with respect as a result they joined SAD,” said Dhillon.

He added that as the people of Gujrat were reaping the benefits of development under the leadership of chief minister Narender Modi, “people of rest of the country also want to see the model of development such as Gujrat. NDA would ensure that people of the country irrespective of caste and religion get facilities at their doorsteps,” said Dhillon.

He added that the state government has completed their work on the Lakkar Bridge and it was the central railway ministry that was delaying the project.

Dhillon informed that Sahnewal airport would be expanded by acquiring 350 acres of land so that the residents of Ludhiana could get the benefit of an international airport.
