On Friday, he instructed the officials of district administration to draft a development plan taking note of all parameters in the villages.

He said that on the basis of such master plans, the state government would plan overall development of the villages "in order to uplift the standard of living of people in villages and to provide proper civic amenities across Punjab".

"Better drainage and sewerage facilities will be provided to all the villages of Punjab within three years. Moreover RO (reverse osmosis) water-purification system will be installed in every village," Rakhra said, while laying the foundation stone of the zila parishad building worth Rs 2.35 crore here.
