Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on Monday filed an application before Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court, Haryana, for permission to go to Nepal for 20 days to carry out relief work there.
The CBI has been asked to file a reply on Wednesday on his application. "We will oppose his application. Earlier also, he had taken permission to go abroad but he didn't go. And earthquake had also come in India and a number of people lost their lives. Why is he not helping out Indians? All these are delaying tactics," said HPS Verma, counsel for CBI.
A massive earthquake on Saturday had resulted in death of around 3,700 people in Nepal but it had affected parts of India as well with over 70 deaths.
Ram Rahim claimed that the dera has had many a time helped and provided relief in the massive earthquake that caused 40-feet high tsunami wave, which caused massive destruction and damage in Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar island and also in Bihar where there was widespread floods.
He also talked about providing relief assistance in Sirsa during 1993 floods, the super cyclone in Odisha in 1999 and the earthquake in 2005 in Jammu and Kashmir.

He claimed that he had already sent 2 lakh paranthas by air to Nepal and has planned to go along with 2,000 volunteers of Greens Welfare Force Wing, along with teams of carpenters, masons, doctors, paramedical staff and relief material which include 500 tents, 5 canters of biscuits, 5 canters of water bottles, 3,500 kg grams, 7,000 kg jaggery, 1 canter blanket, 2 canter food material, 10 to 15 buses and 1 fire brigade.
