The farmers, as part of their ongoing protest, were raising slogans under the banner of BKU (Ekta-Ugrahan) and Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union in front of the residence of inspector general of police (IGP), Bathinda zone, Paramraj Singh Umranangal.
The farmers were released later in the day. Farmers' leaders have alleged that the police, due to political patronage to the third accused Gurlal Singh, was not arresting him though he has been declared a proclaimed offender by the court.
