A religious structure has been raised at the parking land vacated by the municipal corporation (MC) during an anti-encroachment drive in Ghumar Mandi earlier this month.
A temporary sheet and a new board have been installed at the site and a person has started offering prayers.
RTI activist Rohit Sabharwal said, “I have informed MC officials to remove this encroachment from the park. The MC should ensure that there is no encroachment.”
On the directions of the Punjab and Haryana high court, the MC had demolished around 60 illegal constructions in Ghumar Mandi with the help of hundreds of police personnel on May 7.
During the drive, the MC had demolished the structure completely but now it has been raised again.MC commissioner Shruti Singh said, “I have received information about it and we will soon take steps to remove the encroachment.”
