The name appears on an inscription atop the memorial's entrance.

"The name of militants should not be displayed or inscribed in the holy temple at any cost as it glorifies militancy and harms peace, and national harmony and integrity," Chaudhary said.

"The SGPC executive committee has been irresponsible in its statements. It was shocking that they expressed ignorance over the blasphemous inscriptions. How did the process escape the attention of the SGPC chief, whose office is in the shrine?"

"Also, the Dal Khalsa has produced a resolution passed by SGPC before the media, which clearly shows that the organization was aware of the developments and in fact passed the instructions on the same."

He alleged that the BJP was loathe to take a stand on the issue, to stay in power and was unwilling to expose the double standards of the SAD.
