With it, patients who are undergoing treatment at one department of the PGIMER can register themselves online, in case they want to visit any other department or revisit the same. The facility will save a lot of time and energy of patients who otherwise have to stand in long queues for hours for getting a new card.

Around 9,000 patients register themselves at the PGIMER per day, of whom around 2,500 are new patients.

Since March 2015, the PGIMER has been providing the online registration facility only to new patients at 14 OPDs.

“We are going to start the preregistration facility for the revisit patients soon. The software is ready and has been tested,” said Dr YL Narayana, vice-chairman, computerisation monitoring committee.
