A rickshaw puller attempted rape on a four-year-old girl while bringing her girl back home from school.
Arvind Kumar, who brought the girl from her playschool to her house at MIG flats daily, took her to his room at Jamalpur on Tuesday and tried to rape her when she raised an alarm.
The accused's neighbours gathered around the house and forced him to drop the girl home. He took her home and then ran away from the spot.
However, the victim narrated the entire story to her family who immediately reached Moti Nagar police station and lodged a complaint.
A medical examination of victim was conducted at Civil Hospital after which, a case under Section 376/511 (attempt to rape) of IPC was registered against the accused.
Station house officer of Moti Nagar, Kamaljeet Singh said the police have launched a manhunt for the arrest of accused and he will be behind bars shortly.
