In a public gathering at village Gurgaon, Dharampal said the BJP candidate was a high-profile person and was hardly concerned about the common man’s problems.

“In summer, he spends his time in Shimla and in winter he stays in foreign countries and that is his style. He is more a corporate man than a people’s representative,” said Dharampal, adding that this Lok Sabha polls will seal the fate of the BJP candidate. Haryana sports minister Sukhbir Kataria was also present with Dharampal, besides other Congress leaders who held more than two dozen rallies or meetings in the district on Sunday.

Dharampal, a four-time MLA who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time, assured the voters of good governance and better development than what the constituency witnessed in Rao Inderjit’s tenure.

“Now you have an opportunity to elect an MP who can easily be available for you to address your grievances and carry forward development work. It is the Congress government that put the development on fast track in the past two decades in the state but the sitting MP (Inderjit) failed to deliver his promises,” said Dharampal.

With just two days left for canvassing, both the Congress and the BJP are sure to intensify the personal attacks and attempt to sway the voters in last-moment machinations.
