Robbers strike at hospital, rob cash at gunpoint

The Amritsar Police have booked two unidentified persons on charge of barging into a private hospital and robbing Rs 70,000 from the receptionist at gunpoint. Police are now scanning the CCTV footage from the hospital to crack the case.

The Amritsar Police have booked two unidentified persons on charge of barging into a private hospital and robbing Rs 70,000 from the receptionist at gunpoint.

Police are now scanning the CCTV footage from the hospital to crack the case.

Sub inspector Gagandeep Singh said, "The incident took place at the KD hospital here. As per the complainant, two persons entered the hospital at about 5am and reached the reception. At the front desk, the accused took out a pistol and demanded money from the receptionist who handed over Rs 70,000. Thereafter, the accused ran away."

He confirmed that a case had been registered against two unidentified persons. The CCTV footage would be examined to identify the accused, he added.

The CCTV footage shows two persons entering the hospital and after a brief talk brandishing a pistol and pointing it at the receptionist, who hands over the money to them.
