Roza Sharif Urs concludes

Thousands of devotees thronged Roza Sharif, Sirhind, on Wednesday, the concluding day of the annual Urs, to pay obeisance. The Urs are celebrated in the memory of great Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui Sirhindi.Thousands of Naqushbandi Muslims from different parts of the country and Pakistan paid their homage at the holy place.

Thousands of devotees thronged Roza Sharif, Sirhind, on Wednesday, the concluding day of the annual Urs, to pay obeisance.

The Urs are celebrated in the memory of great Sufi saint Sheikh Ahmad Farooqui Sirhindi.Thousands of Naqushbandi Muslims from different parts of the country and Pakistan paid their homage at the holy place.

Apart from Muslims, Hindu and Sikh devotees also visited Roza Sharif to pay their respect. Adequate arrangements were made for the pilgrims. Though the Urs concluded on Wednesday but devotees will continue to visit Roza Sharif for some more days. Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan informed that no untoward incident happened during the three days urs. He thanked people for cooperating with the district administration.

During a conversation with this correspondent , when the Pakistan pilgrims came to know that Punjab government has declared Punjabi its official language, they hailed the decision of the state
government. They told this correspondent that Punjabi was an optional language in Pakistan's Punjab.

The Pak pilgrims are led by 62 -year-old Mohammed. Nusrat Ulla Cheema, a resident of Gujjaranwala.
They said they have enjoyed recently held kabbadi matches on their TV sets in Pakistan.
