The seat-sharing issue of the SAD-BJP alliance has got over for the upcoming municipal elections in the district.

On Tuesday, an hour-long brainstorming session was held here under the leadership of SAD MP Prem Singh Chandumajra where seat-sharing for the two out of three subdivisions viz Mansa and Budhlada was decided.

The members, who attended the meeting, claimed that they won't split and stay together to contest the elections. "We have decided on the seat-sharing arithmetic for the upcoming municipal elections. In Mansa, BJP will fight for 12 seats and SAD 15 seats. Earlier, we fought on 9 seats and SAD contested for 12. This time, BJP has managed to enhance the seat share," said Satish Goyal, district BJP chief. In Budhlada subdivision, BJP will contest 10 seats which is 3 more than their previous tally while SAD will now fight on 9 seats (3 more than their previous tally). Prem Singh Chandumajra stressed that this time, the elections will be fought on developmental issues.

"Every party has its right to expand their base. I don't think that the alliance will face any threat due to this."
