A state-level function was organised to mark Dr BR Ambedkar’s 58th death anniversary at Guru Nanak Bhawan here on Saturday.

Punjab deputy chief minister was also present and paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar. In his address, Badal said, “SAD-BJP government is committed for the all round development and welfare of deprived classes as envisioned by Ambedkar.

During his address, Badal said Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was contemplating to setup a world-class educational institute dedicated to Dr Ambedkar.

Badal also announced that the construction work for Ambedkar’s memorial on Ludhiana-Delhi national highway has begun and it would witness state-of-the-art ambience, along with his statue.

Badal also informed the audience that state government has enhanced the proposed budget of rs 150 crore for building up famous Bhagwan Valmiki Shrine at Amritsar Ram Tirath to Rs 250 crore.

Meanwhile, meeting a highlevel delegation of industrialists and traders, Badal patiently heard their grievances and issues pertaining to Punjab government.

Badal asked the delegation to submit their detailed and complete charter of demands by December 10 to him. He said all issues would be sorted within 10 days, besides making trading and business easier in the state.

Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj national director Ashwani Sahota, national propaganda secretary Raj Kumar Sahota, national advisor Shiv Soni, along with other office bearers handed over a charter of demands to Badal.
