The newly elected members of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) were felicitated on Sunday at Sirhind in a function organised by senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Amritpal Singh Raju.
Most of senior SAD leaders of the district were present on the occasion. The DSGMC members were presented with robes of honour. The general secretary of SAD, Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, former union minister Balwant Singh Ramoowalia, SAD district chief Jagdeep Singh Cheema and senior SAD leader Devinder Singh Bhappu congratulated the DSGMC members.
Addressing the function, Prof. Chandumajra said it was on account of the hard work of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, that Paramjit Singh Sarna was defeated in DSGMC elections.
He said the people were fed up with Sarna brothers' indifferent attitude. Ramoowalia said the Delhi Congress leadership tried their best to help the Sarna group, but could not avoid their defeat.
Delhi SAD unit president Manjit Singh GK, who is a strong contender for the post of DSGMC chief, said Delhi's Sikh community had extended full support to the SAD.
