The Ludhiana station is on high alert in the wake of recent terrorist attack in Dinanagar and placement of bomb on railway track near Pathankot.

On Monday, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) teams did extensive checking at the railway station and also in the trains. The teams led by GRP Inspector Inderjeet Singh and RPF Inspector VK Daundhiyal checked the luggage of passengers, vendors among others at all the seven platforms. Trains like Moga Shatabdi and others were also inspected extensively.

Besides, the passengers were made aware of security measures. They were told not touch unattended luggage and inform the police in case they come across something suspicious.

RPF Inspector VK Daundhiyal said, "We are on alert and checking have been increased these days. Bunkers have been made at the main entry and exit points where the cops remain on duty round the clock with latest ammunitions."
