Sikh radical blasts Congress over new Punjab in-charge

Sikh radical outfit Dal Khalsa’s former head Harcharnjit Singh Dhami on Tuesday accused the Congress of rubbing salt into the Sikh wounds “by appointing 1984-riots accused Kamal Nath in charge of Punjab affairs in the party”.

He also accused certain Sikh leaders of leaning towards “parties whose hands were soaked with innocent blood”. Commenting on the statement from chief minister Parkash Singh Badal that the Congress had inflicted new insult to old injury, he said Badal’s Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was no different from the Congress, as both had “accepted the killers of Sikhs into their fold”. “Why did you accommodate those police officers who had violated human rights?” he asked Badal.
