SIT formed to probe murder in Malerkotla

The district police have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the circumstances leading to the murder of Mohd Tanbir, who was shot dead on Sunday.

The district police have constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the circumstances leading to the murder of Mohd Tanbir, who was shot dead on Sunday.

Senior superintendent of police MS Sidhu said, "Superintendent of police (D) Paramjit Singh Goraya will head the team and Malerkotla SP and DSP Jaswinder Singh and Nahar Singh are other members of the team."

He said the SIT has been asked to submit the report at the earliest. However, Malerkotla town remained quiet on Tuesday and there was no any untoward incident.
