At least six persons including two women were injured when an under-construction building collapsed in Arjun Nagar in Bathinda on Sunday morning.

The incident took place at about 10: 30 am when workers were working in the building, which was meant to be a the godown of a biscuit firm. Soon, a portion of the roof and walls collapsed. The trapped workers were brought out by the police with the help of workers of voluntary organisations.

Canal Colony SHO inspector Davinder Singh said that the injured have been admitted to the hospital and inquiry was on to ascertain why the building collapsed.
