Skill development critical to country's growth

More than 400 students were conferred with degrees during the convocation ceremony held here at St Soldier Group of Institutions, on Friday. Students of MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA, BALLB and LLB of St. Soldier Management and Technical Institute and St Soldier Law College were awarded degrees by former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma.

More than 400 students were conferred with degrees during the convocation ceremony held here at St Soldier Group of Institutions, on Friday.

Students of MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA, BALLB and LLB of St. Soldier Management and Technical Institute and St Soldier Law College were awarded degrees by former Lok Sabha speaker PA Sangma.

While addressing the gathering, Sangma, emphasised the need to promote technical education among youth, as it was necessary to be skilled to improve the country's growth. He added that the youth must understand the importance of their role in making India a technology leader.

The dignitaries present included ambassador Deepak Vohra, chairman and vice-chairperson, St Soldier group, Anil Chopra and Sangeeta Chopra.

Group MD professor Manhar Arora read the annual report in which he mentioned the achievements of the students that included merit positions in university, excellent pass percentage with distinctions, academic activities, sports, extra curricular activities and social responsibilities in the previous year.

Deepak Vohra said, "Time has come when we have to address the global mega trends which are critical to sustain the success and growth in India. Students who are skilled and got technical degrees must give back to the country."
