She told him his coming back to power in the state as deputy chief minister hadn't pleased people. "The entire state is in mourning since the day his party formed the government last year," said Preneet. “Not a single soul in Punjab is happy with this government.”

Addressing a public meeting at the grain market here, Perneet said the peole would make a beginning from Moga to oust the SAD. "The way things are in Punjab, nobody feels safe," she said. "The incidents of rape have increased and the Akali leaders shield the suspects. Even the police are unsafe in Punjab, as seen in Amritsar, where an Akali leader killed an assistant sub-inspector for objecting to the harassment of his daughter, and in the case where the legs of a senior police officer were broken."

“And as long as you have an atmosphere of crime, nobody will make investment in the state,” said Preneet. She made a vote appeal for the Congress candidgate, Vijay Sathi.

State opposition leader Sunil Jakhar; state Mahila Congress president Malti Thapar; Vijay Inder Singla, member of parliament from Sangrur; state Youth Congress president Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary; and party leader Jagmohan Singh Kang were present.
