Since the village has no drains, and the laying of sewerage is stalled for the past more than a year, more than 50 families are forced to live in filthy, contaminated environment, with the foundation of their houses weakening every day. The two village ponds have overflowed and the municipal corporation has failed to respond to the villagers' many requests for help.

"In more than 20 years our village has been in the Jalandhar MC jurisdiction, it has never been developed. On four of its streets, the threat of epidemic is maximum, since the sites have turned into the breeding grounds of mosquitoes and other insects," said villager Manjit Singh.

The sewage and contaminated water stalled for many months have corroded the walls of many houses and made the environment stinky. The lives of hundreds of people are disturbed because of it.
Binder Pal, villager

Our relatives avoid visiting us and we feel embarrassed because of the poor civic conditions on our streets. Being equal citizens of the country, we also deserve help from the municipal corporation.
Neetu, housewife

Authorityspeak

The village has no sewerage facility, and the process of laying it is unfinished. I have instructed the MC's assistant commissioner (buildings and roads) to resolve the issue already.
KD Bhandari, Jalandhar North MLA
