Investigating officer Rajesh Kumar Chibber said the incident took place in front of Multi-purpose Senior Secondary School, here, when accused Avtar and Sonu asked Amandeep to come of the school.

The police said the moment Amandeep stepped out of the school, he was brutally attacked by around six boys, including the two accused.

The accused left the spot after injuring him seriously. He was rushed to Government Rajindra Hospital.

The police said the main members of both the groups were fencing players, which had a rivalry.

SP Daljeet Singh Rana said things would become clear after they receive the medical report of the injured. They had constituted teams, which were raiding houses of the accused, he added.

Meanwhile, school principal Tota Singh Chahal said they had nothing to do with the incident as it took place outside the school.
