STUDENTS PROTEST HARASSMENT

The nursing students of Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital staged a protest after a student of the nursing college was forced to remove her dress on the pretext of frisking on Wednesday. The girl was taken to the principal’s room after a person had complained about the theft of a mobile phone.

The nursing students of Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital staged a protest after a student of the nursing college was forced to remove her dress on the pretext of frisking on Wednesday. The girl was taken to the principal’s room after a person had complained about the theft of a mobile phone.

The victim accused that a staff member of the nursing college forced her to remove her dress to frisk. Soon after the incident, an agitated group of students started raising slogans against the staff members.
They also demanded inquiry and action against the alleged faculty member.
Police officials also reached the spot where the students were protesting. Station house officer of the police station in Focal Point, Surinder Singh, said a complaint had been forwarded to the college management to look into the matter. “The management team has been asked to get back to us within two days,” he added.

He also revealed that some students informed the police over a phone call about the episode
When contacted, Balwinder Sharma, an official at the hospital, showed ignorance about the matter adding that he was on leave for two days.
