A total of 307 students will be tested for physics, chemistry, biology and computer science starting Tuesday.

Officiating principal Anoop Kumar Passi said: “Although we don’t have computers we’ll proceed with the practicals from October 21 according to the project director’s instructions. Teachers will conduct the practical exams in groups over the next two days since the students won’t be attending school on Diwali.

Those who miss out will be able to sit for the test on Sunday, which will be a working day this time.”

He added equipment for physics, biology and chemistry practicals had already arrived at the school and all other arrangements were in place.

However, one of the schoolteacher noted wryly: “The students aren’t familiar with computer basics, so how on earth are they expected to use laptops for the practical exams? In any case, we don’t have a choice.”
