Students told to join defacement probe

Police have issued notices to all 27 students, who were booked for defacing public property at Panjab University on Saturday, to join investigation by Tuesday. The police have booked these students, including leaders of nine groups on a complaint from the PU administration. A seven-member special team has also been formed to investigate the case. DSP (central) Ashish Kapoor said that all those students who had been booked for defacing public property had been asked to join the investigations on Tuesday.

The varsity administration had found almost all groups including the National Students Union of India (NSUI), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Student Organization of India (SOI) and Student Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) involved in the defacement violations.
