Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal visted Faridkot on the conluding day of the 5 days Baba Farid festival on Monday and addressed the gathering at hockey stadium at Government Brijindra College, Faridkot.

"The 4th World Kabaddi tournament will be held from November 9-23.The government has also increased the budget for games from 12 crore to 142 crore."
He announced the setting up centres of sporting excellence at Bathinda, Mohali, Amritsar and Jalandhar. The deputy CM added that work on sewerage and drinking water facility had begun.
He was accompanied by Faridkot MP Paramjeet Kaur Gulshan, Faridkot MLA Deep Malhotra, Kotkapura MLA Mantar Singh Brar.
