Police said Shera had a penchant for costly clothes, electronic items and owning plots in metros. Though he had hacked accounts of people throughout India, he preferred account holders from big cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh.

Harbhajan told the police that on the intervening night of March 17 and 18, someone had used his credit card and paid Rs 85,000 from his account through online shopping.

Tarn Taran DSP Daljeet Singh Dhillon said that as per the data collected from the State Bank of India, two transactions had been made from the complainant's account. He said Shera used to lurk around ATMs to keep a watch on people's transactions. "The accused used to collect the account slips which customers threw away to know their account numbers," said the DSP.
