Prem Kumar Rattan of Dhuri had approached the commission after he failed to get desired information from the Fatehgarh Sahib tehsildar's office. During the hearing of the case on May 21, the tehsildar was directed to appear personally in the next hearing, which he didn't.

The commission has given last opportunity to the tehsildar to appear before the commissioner, along with the desired information, failing which action under section 20(i) of the RTI Act would be initiated. Next hearing of case is fixed for July 30.
