The district police have arrested three people, including a close relative of the complainant in a theft case, and recovered all the stolen goods worth Rs 4.8 lakh from their possession.
The police had received a complaint from one Rajesh Kumar, a Faridkot resident, alleging that he had gone to Beas along with his family and left his maternal cousin Paras Gulati to take care of his house. But, when he came back on Sunday, they found gold jewellery, some foreign currency and a mobile handset worth Rs 4.8 lakh missing from his house.
"The police have arrested Paras Gulati, cousin of the complaint, his friends Ranjodh Singh and Sony Kumar and recovered all the stolen goods from their possession. Paras had committed the theft in connivance with his friends," confirmed Narinder Singh, SHO, city police station, Faridkot.
