They include Hasanjit, a watchman from Leehan village near Sidhwan Bet in Ludhiana district who has already been questioned by the police, Davinder Pal, alias Laddi, of Purain village near Sidhwan Bet and Ravinder Pal of Meria village of Gurdaspur district who is now living in Sidhwan Bet.

The police said Davinder Pal had made the fake number plates of the victims' cars. They said Ravinder Pal was running a sale-purchase business of stolen vehicles.

The police had, on April 5, arrested Harvinder Singh (23), alias Binder, Pritpal Singh (21), alias Laddu, and Umesh Karda (21), alias Sonu, for the double murder.

Meanwhile, a special investigation team (SIT) of the police launched a search operation in Budha Nullah near Mallakpur village, 20 km from here, on Saturday to recover the coat of the accused and the belongings of the victims.

Following the confession of the prime accused, the SIT hired four divers who searched a 1.5-km stretch of the nullah near Mallakpur on Saturday and recovered some handbags.

Sadar ACP Gurpreet Singh Walia, who is heading the search operation, said the police were verifying whether any of the handbags belonged to Kapila. "We will resume the search operation on Sunday," he said.

The police took Pritpal to the nullah to locate the spot where the belongings were dumped.
