Three members of a family from Bhagthala village of the district, who were injured in a road accident near Pakka village on Monday, died in the GGS medical collage and hospital here.
The accident took place when the motorcycle they were riding was crossing the Talwandi road near Crown Palace near Pakka village.
The deceased have been identified as Gurmail Singh, 60; his daughter Manpreet Kaur, 28 and a three-year-old child Reet Kaur. The fourth member of the family Amandeep Singh, Gurmail's son is injured and is under treatment in the hospital.
They were riding the motorcycle and were going to drop Manpreet kaur at her in-laws' village Bhana when a speeding Innova car allegedly hit their motorcycle on Monday noon. Allof them were seriously injured. The driver of the vehicle fled the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
The injured had been rushed to GGS medical college but three of them died shortly afterwards.
