Three PAU vegetable scientists get best research paper award 2013
Three vegetable scientists of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU)-Naveen Garg, DS Cheema and Neena Chawla have been awarded with "Dr Harbhajan Singh Memorial Gold Medal" for their research.
Three vegetable scientists of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU)-Naveen Garg, DS Cheema and Neena Chawla have been awarded with "Dr Harbhajan Singh Memorial Gold Medal" for their research.
The Indian Society of Vegetable Science has awarded them with the best research paper of 2013. The medal was awarded to the scientists for their research paper entitled "Manifestation of heterosis for fruit yield, quality and shelf-life in tomato hybrids incorporating rin, nor and alc alleles in main and late seasons of North Indian plains" published in the journal "Vegetable Science".
The award carrying a gold medal and a citation, was presented to Naveen Garg during the inaugural session of "National conference on post-harvest losses and value addition in vegetables" held at Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi on July 12. Garg is presently working as assistant vegetable botanist at PAU regional research station, Bathinda.
BS Dhillon, vice-chancellor, PAU and SS Gosal, director of research, congratulated and lauded the scientists for their contribution to vegetable science. MS Dhaliwal, head, department of vegetable science, also hailed the achievement of PAU scientists.
