Train runs over man trying to cross railway line at Makhu

Rahul, 20, a resident of Makhu, was crushed to death by Jammu Tawi Express train (19226), coming from Jalandhar. A provisional store owner, he was reportedly trying to cross the railway line as a shortcut from his local Mission Basti, but fell down.

A provisional store owner, he was reportedly trying to cross the railway line as a shortcut from his local Mission Basti, but fell down. He was taken to an Amritsar hospital, but succumbed to injuries.

The Railway Police Force completed the proceedings under Section 174 (unnatural death) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and the body was handed over to the families after postmortem.
