The Mehatpur police have booked a travel agent on charges of cheating and breach of trust.
SHO Manjit Singh said that the accused have been identified as Rachhpal Singh resident of Bangiwal village. Joti daughter of Amarjeet of Mehatpur complained to Jalandhar (Rural) SSP that she gave Rs 2.5 lakh to the accused for her brother’s migration to Italy but he was not sent abroad nor was returned the money.

A case under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
