Barely a day after a cabinet committee decided to grant reservation to Jats in central level jobs, Rajya Sabha member and convener of Trinamool Congress (TMC), north zone, KD Singh has demanded reservation to Haryana's Punjabi community.
He said this during his road show from Sonepat to Ambala on Tuesday.
Dubbing the reservation decision to Jats a poll stunt, he said that nothing could save Congress from blushes in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Extending invitation to people to attend the TMC rally in New Delhi on March 12, he said that social activist Anna Hazare has given his support to West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee. He said that after Delhi's rally, TMC would start organising rallies in other states, including Haryana.

He also denied of having alliance with any other political parties in Haryana, saying that combined force of Anna and Mamta does not feel the need of any other alliance. He also advocated the making of separate gurdwara committee in Haryana for Sikhs.
He said that TMC would field candidates on all the 10 LS seats in the poll-bound state.
