Truck falls into thermal power plant lake, driver unhurt

A truck skidded off the road and fell into lake number 2 of Guru Nanak Dev thermal power plant on the Bathinda-Malout road near the railway crossing on Thursday night. The driver of the truck. However. escaped unhurt.

The driver, identified as Shakil Mohammad, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was driving the truck towards Bathinda when he lost control of the vehicle at about 1am and the truck fell into the lake. He managed come out of the truck before it sank and saved his life.

The truck was brought out of the lake with the help of a crane by the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force and locals in the morning. The truck was headed to Sri Ganga Nagar in Rajasthan.
